"Women
Re-Birthing Justice" Concert
February 16th 2008
Girl Fest Hawaii
is holding the "Women Re-Birthing Justice"
Concert on Saturday, February 16th at Next Door
in Downtown, Honolulu. 43 North Hotel Street.
9pm-2am. 21+

This
show is held in honor of Janel Tupuola, beaten
to death in Kailua by her boyfriend with a shotgun
Jan 16th of this year; and Jenny Hartsock, stabbed
to death by her husband in Kalihi on Jan 10th
of this year. Our condolences go out to their
friends and families.
Coming
together in this community event are local DJs,
artists, performers, poets, educators, students
and anti-violence activists. Local DJs Toki and
Ms. Angel from the "Sisters in Sound"
collective will perform on this important night
of recognition and remembrance of these women and
singer Jennifer Johns from Oakland will help us
celebrate the beauty of their lives and memory.
This
night will also include performances by special
guest artists: Giinko Marischino, Tuia'ana Scanlan,
Dar'ron Cambra, Tiare Mata, Lyz Soto, Stri, Danmerle
and more...

will be available.
Enables prosecution
of human trafficking under Hawaii law by creating
new offense of sexual exploitation of a minor,
amending existing kidnapping, extortion, and prostitution
offenses, and including sexual exploitation of
a minor in definition of racketeering. Eliminates
distinction between minors under 18 and minors
under 16 for purposes of promoting prostitution.
Makes victims of sexual exploitation of a minor
and promoting prostitution in the first degree
eligible for crime victim compensation.

Our Conference and Events were made wonderful because

multimedia event this September with the commencment
of 3rd Annual GiRL FeST Hawaii 10-day multimedia
festival and conference.
We
will be planning for this event until then. For
